This digestive support formula provides betaine hydrochloride, a source of hydrochloric acid that helps us digest food by breaking up fats and proteins. This natural stomach acid also aids in the absorption of nutrients through the walls of the intestines into the blood and protects the gastrointestinal tract from harmful bacteria. Insufficient acid levels may lead to incomplete protein digestion cascading into allergic reactions (see Food Allergies under Allergy Wellness Center) causing indigestion and pain. Pepsin is added as an enzyme to further insure complete stomach digestion. 100 Capsules.
